YASMIN & JACK

SUNDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2027 | MOANA HALL

“An intimate celebration shaped by family, culture and atmosphere.”

Firstly, thank you both so much for taking the time to chat with me this evening. It was such a pleasure getting to know you both and hearing more about the kind of day you’re creating at Moana.

What stood out most from our conversation was how much you want the day to feel relaxed, intimate and genuinely welcoming for the people you love most. There’s a real sense that the atmosphere matters just as much as how everything looks.

I also loved hearing about the details you’re weaving through the day, the tea ceremony, lion dancing, candlelight, the first look, and those smaller family moments you both spoke about. They give the day so much personality, and they’re exactly the kinds of moments I naturally look for when I’m photographing.

You mentioned that the expressions, reactions and quieter interactions between people are especially important to you. That sits very naturally with the way I work, balancing gentle creative direction with space for the honest, unscripted moments to happen around it.

From everything we spoke about, I really do feel my approach aligns beautifully with the kind of celebration you’re hoping to create.

What I’ve recommended for your day is built around giving each part enough space to feel natural rather than tightly scheduled.

With Moana, the tea ceremony, the first look, State Buildings portraits and the shift into candlelight later in the evening, there are quite a few distinct chapters to the day. The timeline has been shaped to let each of those breathe, while still keeping the overall flow relaxed.

I’ll step in with direction when it adds something, particularly around portraits, movement and light, and then pull back when the moment is already happening on its own. That balance is what allows the photographs to feel polished without losing the intimacy and personality of the day.

A gentle flow of the day

1:30pm | Yasmin’s Preparations

I’ll begin at the North Perth home with the final touches, meaningful details and the first looks with family. Enough time to capture the atmosphere without making the morning feel staged or drawn out.

2:10pm | First Look with Jack

A quiet moment together before heading into the city. I’d keep this simple and natural, giving you both space to settle into the day before everything else begins.

2:30pm | Travel to Moana Hall

A little breathing room is built into the timeline here so the day can move without feeling rushed, while also giving me time to arrive ahead of you and photograph the space, styling and finer details before guests begin to settle in.

3:00pm | Wedding Ceremony

The main ceremony, with a focus not just on the two of you, but the reactions, expressions and smaller moments happening around you.

3:30pm | Tea Ceremony

A more intimate part of the day, allowing proper space for tradition, family connection and the emotional moments that naturally come with it.

4:05pm | Family Portraits

A concise set of family photographs, kept relaxed and efficient so everyone can move easily into the next part of the celebration.

4:25pm | Cocktail Hour & Moana Details

A chance to capture guests settling in, the room, the styling and the overall feel of the space before the evening moves into reception.

4:50pm | Portraits at State Buildings & Gardens

The main portrait window, timed while there is still enough light around the gardens and State Buildings to work with those brighter pockets. I’d use a mix of gentle direction and natural movement so the photographs still feel like you.

5:45pm | Return to Moana Hall

A little time to settle back in, capture the room as it shifts toward evening and photograph those quieter transitions before reception begins.

6:15pm | Reception Begins

Guests settle in as the room transitions into evening and candlelight. From here, I’ll focus more instinctively on atmosphere, interactions and the smaller moments happening around you.

7:00–8:30pm | Reception Formalities

Dinner, speeches and lion dancing, followed by the cake and first dance as the evening becomes a little more energetic.

8:30pm | Dancing & Evening Atmosphere

Time for the celebration to loosen up, movement, guest interactions and some of the more playful moments of the night.

8:50pm | Flash Portraits

A quick final portrait set using flash for something sharper, playful and slightly more fashion-led to contrast with the softer daylight photographs earlier in the day.

9:15pm | Photography Concludes
